MEDES develops space medicine and space applications for health
MEDES’ activities are divided into 3 main areas of activity, which are closely intertwined :
Support for space missions, clinical research, space applications and innovations
Support for space missions
MEDES runs operational space medicine activities within the EAC, and supports CNES/CADMOS and scientists in monitoring human physiology experiments carried out during European ISS missions.
Clinical research
MEDES manages the Space Clinic and makes its facilities available, with the aim of supporting clinical research by internationally recognised researchers, either on behalf of space agencies or on behalf of non-space companies.
Space applications and innovations
MEDES contributes to the development of applications for the benefit of society, and spin-off services and technologies derived from space knowledge and experience, in the fields of medicine, public health, biomedical instrumentation and information and communication technologies.
